Oroklini or (Voroklini) in Greek, is a traditional Cypriot village, set against a mountain backdrop with stunning views, yet only moments from the beach and a short drive to the historic town of Larnaca. Oroklini has all the traditional character of a Cypriot village yet it also has easy access to the motorway where you can reach the capital city of Nicosia (Lefkosia) in just 30 mins, the large coastal town of Limmasol (lemessos) in 45 mins and Ayia Napa, famous for its beautiful beaches and buzzing night life in just 30 mins. However, if you do not wish to travel far you can also be assured that all the amenities you could ever require are right here on your doorstep. There are many different taverns and restaurants for you to choose some great food from the famous traditional meze to a full English breakfast. Oroklini has plenty of supermarkets and kiosks to shop for your essential supplies as well as a couple of fantastic bakeries open 24 hrs, offering traditional Cypriot breads and pastries as well as basic essentials.
Just beneath Oroklini village sits Dhekelia Road, this is the tourist area with a beach that stretches around the bay. On the tourist strip you can find many more restaurants with a wide range of different cuisines to choose from. Many pubs, hotels, shops and a Blue Flag beach can also be found. This area is very popular with the locals in the summer months and a place where many like to take their morning and evening strolls along the beach.
Oroklini is surrounded by stunning countryside with some lovely walks with picnic areas on the top of the mountains. The view from the top stretches for miles and is not one to be missed. Oroklini is the ideal location for couples or families either wanting that active holiday with plenty to do, or for a more quiet time for those just wishing to relax in the sun or under the warm starry night skies.
